I've heard recently that they changed where they were gating the roads up to dolly sods. The website for what its worth says FR19 was scheduled to be open on the 15th of February anyone know first hand if this road is open from Laneville up to FR70

I don't know if it's open now, but to my knowledge all they did was move a gate down to the Laneville cabin a few years ago, so no one could go up to the picnic area gate or get hung up in between.
Call the Ranger station if you want to know anything, the website info is wrong most of the time.

Just got off the phone with the ranger district the gates are still closed. He said they opened the gates on FR75 on April 15 last year. I asked specifically about the gate on FR19 and he said he assumed it would be open the same time as the ones of FR75 but he was not sure cause this is the first year that they closed those gates. So it looks like a long uphill hike on Flatrock or boars nest is in order if you want to reach the Roaring Plains
