What were you doing @ 8:45 A.M. Fourteen years ago today?
I was sitting at my desk in my office next to my lab when a co-worker told me to come quickly to Jud's lab and we watched the horrific events unfold on a grainy black and white portable T.V. Our lives would never be the same.

I was a beer salesman at the time, and was at a Legion Hall in AA county. They had a small TV on, and I saw the black smoke rolling up out of the corner of my eye. My first thought was "some dumbass tourist plane hit a building". What a crazy morning that was.

I was at home with my one year old son. When the second plane hit it was obvious we were at war. I remember thinking, it would be a long terrible war, chasing shadows all over the planet, but surely it would be over by the time my son was fighting age.

On 9-10-11 the Mid State Trail Association voted to extend the trail to New York State, I headed from there to a hotel.
On 9-11 I was visiting an office in Meadville, PA then went to a meeting at PA DEP. Our morning meeting ended when the DEP staff kicked us out of the conference room as it had the TV. We headed to another meeting as my colleague became progressively more agitated by radio reports giving the location of the fourth plane as sequentially "near Pittsburgh" to "Somerset County" to "near Indian Lake" to "Shanksville" to "Stonycreek Township." When he finally got through on the phone to his sister he learned the Flight 93 crash was a mile from the farm he grew up on.
