I recently went backpacking in the scenic, isolated Square Timber Wild Area of the Elk State Forest. Beautiful glens, forests, streams, and views, with a real sense of isolation. This area is so isolated and beautiful, and is west of Renovo. There were some large pine and hemlock. Red trilliums were blooming. I drove out along the Ridge Road to take in some more views. I'm glad I checked it out.
