A lot of mud around, looking for good ideas for an over-nighter that doesn't have too much mud or water crossings that may be high on the trail. Suggestions? Thanks!

North half of North Fork Mountain. Hard to find anything drier. Hard to do by yourself though since it's not a loop.

After seeing the great pictures, that did come to mind-but I will probably going solo, unless you count my pooch!

I was going to mention North Fork Mt. though all of it should be dry. Huckleberry Tr at Seneca Creek is pretty dry also but If you're gonna loop you'll hit mud on the other trails. My find some dry areas on the Laurel Highlands Tr and Savage Mt Trail would be dry but these all require shuttles.

Big Schloss might not be too bad. I know we backpacked it last spring day after a bad gully washer, and it wasn't that bad as far as mud. There was water running down the trail climbing up, but it wasn't muddy.
The Sandstone spring campsite was a mud bog though, but there was a much drier place just past it on the left that we ended up using.

Yeah, I forgot about Big Schloss - should be pretty dry since it's on a ridgeline also.

Thanks for the ideas! I thought about Big Schloss, but I was just there last fall. Think the snow will still be there tomorrow? Mike suggested both Big Schloss and Quebec Run, and since I have never been to QR I was leaning that way. Unless there might be some snow-covered landscapes to take in from the overlook.

In the Massanuttens, the Duncan Knob - Strickler Knob circuit makes for a nice overnight. In addition to what is shown on Mike's map, there are campsites on top of Duncan Knob. As this is a "mother of all rock hops" hike, I'd want dry rock surfaces for this one! Using the Gap Creek trail head gets you to the top of Duncan in less than two hours, good for a Friday afternoon getaway.
Quebec Run sounds really nice. I'm going to miss it twice in a row due to a cold.....
