well after posting a few pictures from my trip,i will try to tell you all about it.on 10-20 2014,my Navajo guide, leo, and i departed the car and walker up the NM fork of Jayhi creek.the hike wasnt to bad but very sandy,we hike about 7 miles and made camp at a place i called marble dome camp, because of the millions on Moki marbles around us.this was a nice low tech trip were we didnot even use a stove!our campwas on the divide between Jayhi and the famous West creek canyon.our first hike was to Arch in the Sky on the side of Octogon mesa, truly a great site,as we were above the slot canyons that cover the Rainbow plateau.we have great views if navajo mnt,and 1,000 of acres of baldrock desert, and of the huge bulk of Cummings mesa.we also hike to the Crouching Camel, witch was awesome!many huge horns of sandstone towering hundreds of feet above us,we also saw were in 1881 someone named Foote carved his name.the nights were clear with temps in the mid 40's.the stars are amazing! one night i saw the International Space Station 3 times, and lots of meteors.all in all it was one of the best trips ive ever been one.Leo was a great guide, and a good teacher of the way of Navajo life.great great trip!!
