He's an Eastern Fence Lizard. He hangs around the cabin either on the porch railings or sunning himself on the West side of the cabin, much to the dismay of the Lab. It's another one of those things that are less common in other areas of the MNF.

As a kid we used to catch those by the dozen around some old strip mines in the Northen Panhandle. There were a lot of orange newts in the area back then. Memories. Thanks for the pic.
