One of my favorite spots. A buddy and I backpacked into there from Gaudineer Knob back before the train was back in service and camped at the falls. Another friend and I rode the old , now closed western branch of the West Fork railtrail down there and I did a solo bike ride in the winter and pushed my bike out the then unused railroad. Fun times. I prefer fall for the colors around the falls.

I’m with you: it’s a favorite spot of mine too. Such an impressive waterfall.

I used to camp back there quite a bit. Usually on the river above the falls where the trail hit the tracks.

Thank you for posting these, and to all for suggestions. This past fall I had a great time doing an out-and-back, hiking up from the east side and heading some miles south along the Allegheny Trail. Beautiful hike - beautiful forest (except for the short bit on the road where someone's private holding goes high up the mountainside). I'll have to do some backpacking in the area to explore some of the abandoned trails (Camp 57 trail, etc) and/or just wander around off-trail...
