Took a trip down 81 to the Blue Ridge Parkway and did the Torrey Ridge-Mills Creek loop. Parked at the overlook, which had no view anymore. A lot of the hike was the same, about 10 years of tree growth too late for the best views. But there was a lot of window views The side trip to the Sherando Lake overlook was not as great as hoped for, there was almost as good of an overlook down the Torrey Ridge Trail The campsite was nice and flat, and thought the area looked dry there was plenty of water in Mills Creek Then back on trail in the morning. Nice flat start along the creek plain. There was the big climb to get back to the ridge, saw this moth as I was in my nose-to-toes position. The last push was a doozy but the overlook at the top was very nice to look at as you catch your breath. Then a couple better windows on the trail back to our car. Headed out to Devils Backbone for a really excellent lunch with a craft brew-highly recommended!
