We recently hiked at some of the lands that comprise the Nature Conservancy's Long Pond Preserve in the Poconos. Cathy's Trail was an easy two mile trail that explored wetlands, boulder field, spruce forests, and a meadow. It was a scenic trail. Lots of cool mushrooms. We then went to the nearby Long Pond Barrens to see the pitch pine forests and stunted forests of oak. It was a different kind of place to hike in the mist. Would be cool to see in the fall or after a snowfall.
