Does anyone have updates on the trail conditions for Cranberry?
Haven't been since the floods and latest info i can find was from shortly thereafter by cattimusrex.
Looking at big beechy/middlefork, possibly up laurelly and back north mountain.
side note - have crowds died down on mount rogers?
saw they got a dusting last weekend but hate dealing with the crowds.
Thank you!

I spoke with a ranger at the Potomac station on Tuesday, and all appears fine. I asked about road & trail conditions out and around Cranberry Wilderness, and all is a go.

Williams river road is still closed I believe. That area is a black hole, you can't get info from anywhere, and the FS website is worthless. One area I don't drive to that often, as there's really no reason for me to drive down there unless I'm going to cranberry. You can't get there from anywhere, and I live outside of Elkins!

Gotta agree with jnk on the black hole of information. Seems to be a common theme with the USFS. You have to dig around deeply on their website for anything more than superficial information - I think they purposely make it hard to find. BTW, the Potomac Ranger District doesn't cover Cranberry. You really need to talk to someone in the Gauley Ranger District.

If you can find the number for the cranberry nature center, they have all of the info down there, but hell I think they pipe electric in up there so who knows about phones!
