It was. The creek crossings were challenging. I have a question. As Pond Run trail nears Waites Run Road, the trail drops off. Did it get washed out? You walk alongside the creek then run into a rock face that I think you need to climb up. I cut off and crossed the creek there instead, since the trail was going the opposite direction of my car.

you missed a turn right after the last crossing. It goes up and over a hill.

But I was still seeing blue blazes in front of me up to that point and saw one on a tree looking back. I am going back this weekend to do a little bushwhacking with Sam, maybe I will take another look.

According to the PATC map, when the trail came up against the rocks, we needed to climb up and to the left to stay to the west of Waites Run. But that was not very appealing at the time.... Interestingly, the route we took is the way the Garmin map shows the Pond Run Trail, with the trail hitting the road to the east of the run. I have some good illustrations but can't figure out how to post "snipping tool" images.
The water was moving real fast at that last stream crossing!

Looking at my photos from last year (and going the opposite direction) it appears that at the bottom of the Pond Run section, you would need to turn left into the Waites Run flood plain for a short bit before the little hill. And what for you would be the beginning part had flowing water (not heavy but an obvious high-water stream channel).
