Looking for info on. May be going up that way later this spring, and wondered if anyone has some "hot spots" to see.

Beautiful park, particularly for stargazing, which is incredible if you're lucky enough to have a clear night. Ole Bull State Park is nearby and has a nice campground and easy trails. Lyman Run State Park is also very nice and secluded. Dutlinger Natural Area is a great hike with an impressive old growth forest. Be sure to enjoy the great views from the Twin Sisters Trail/Hammersley Meadows. Black Forest Trail is nearby, many day hike loops possible with excellent views. if you like history, the PA Lumber Museum is worthwhile. Dont miss the Pine Creek Gorge or Hyner View, which is in the general area. Check out the Susquehannock State Forest website and the various maps. dcnr.state.pa.us/forestry/stateforests/susquehannock/index.htm

While in the general area, you must hike the Golden Eagle Trail.

I wouldn't camp there unless you like being out in the sun. Like posted above, it's a special place for star gazing and there's almost no trees or shade in the campground itself.
There are a few sites along the edge of the woods, but not many. You're basically camping in a field.

You can camp a little north of there at Patterson State Park
