I went on a great hike this weekend through the Woodbourne Forest to enjoy the streams, wetlands, and ancient old growth hemlock forests. No snow from the storm, but the frozen wetlands and streams provided the necessary white for a winter hike. Woodbourne is a remarkably diverse place, home to almost 200 species of birds and trees hundreds of years old. In summer, it teems with life, instead of the chilled silence of this visit.
