I thought I might post it in the General Discussion, but this seems to be the only forum that gets any traffic and hopefully others who used the site will realize what happened. Another great resource for hiking in PA is disappearing. PAhikes.com will be shutting down in early 2024, so collect any info you need from there soon before it's gone. Additionally, the map resources that are sold there appear to be on sale. pahikes.com/

Any idea why they are shutting down? I've never hiked in PA, I'm in Virginia, but info I see here makes me want to take the trip.

No idea. I'm guessing it's a lot of work and a fair amount of money to keep the site running. They had a lot of good info there, for sure. That site and this one were invaluable for me when I first started venturing into the PA Wilds for backpacking trips.

There might be a way to access this website if it goes down, through the wayback machine. Below is a link I came up with after going to the wayback machine and searching for PA hikes. web.archive.org/web/20231115225230/https://pahikes.com/I don't know how extensive it is but at least some of the site is there.
