'A wise old owl lived in an oak. The more he saw the less he spoke. The less he spoke the more he heard. Why can’t we all be like that wise old bird?'

For some reason I'm hearing that in Katherine Hepburns voice. Didn't she tell ol rooster something like that or am I hallucinating. .

Dunkard,
That's because Katherine Hepburn did say that to Rooster when he was drunk.

Nope, Katherine Hepburn was in the sequel I guess you would call it entitled "Rooster Cogburn". I hope you were joking on the "Grits" part. Kim Darby was in that.

At my age I'm lucky I remember The Duke played Rooster let alone if Katie was in the first movie or the sequel. Wasn't there one about ....something ... for Sister Sarah? Or did he play a different character in that one. Wasn't Glen Campbell in that one?

Two Mules for Sister Sara was a Clint Eastwood movie. Glen Cambell was in True Grit. The John Wayne movie you may be thinking of is the Sons of Katie Elder.
