Question for you Jeff or others on this board Do you know of any info on the conditions of the three trails ( Dragons Back Trail, Hilborn Run trail & Hilborn Trails) near the Golden Eagle Trail on the photo of the map of the trails in the area. The Dragons Back Trail has an intriguing name. Thinking it may have rock outcrops that are prevalent in this area.

Late to the party, but the Hilborn/Hilborn Run Trail loop is a great extension for the GET. There are at multiple vistas, with views north, west, and southeast. The trails are lightly traveled and unblazed, but easy to follow (as long as there's no snow). No big outcrops on these trails either though.
These pictures are from late October 2 years ago. All three from Hilborn Trail (instead of the southern Hilborn Run Trail), and posted out of order for some reason. 1st pic is just before the final descent (if heading south) to Hilborn Run, the second pic is Twin Mountain Vista, a very wide angle view at the northernmost part of the trail, and the 3rd pic is right in the middle.

Wow, some awesome views on Hilborn. Thanks for sharing. Yeah, I think it's a very worthy addition to the original route. Adds a challenging climb and descent, 3 vistas, and ~4-5 miles, while still letting you choose between Bonnell Run and Dragon's Back for the final leg.
Hope you can get out there to bring back some higher quality pics than my point & shoot!

Thanks for the reply's all. Plan on using these trails next time I make it up that way. Add a bit of variety to the standard Golden Eagle Loop
