Try and give this a shot to see if it works for me.

A favorite fall time view just off the Appalachian Trail east (trail north) of the Lehigh Gap

That's a nice one Kevin. I still consider the view(s) from Chimney Top my favorite in the mid-Atlantic, but here's another sunset shot from Lindy Point:

Those are very nice Gali. I have yet to make it to North Fork. I may try this year as I have some time off in Oct.

This is one of my favorites from Mount Rogers. It's a shame I can't remember exactly where it was. I guess it's also a shame you cant see anything because it looks terrible!

Probably my all time favorite view. Somewhere on Canyon Rim Trail in the Roaring Plains. Once again I apologize for my crummy photography!

capt00,
That last photo looks like it's from the Point.

Definitely not an award winning photo, but definitely a favorite vista shared with my son on a soggy BFT backpack.

So hard to choose, so I'm not going to pick a single favorite. The overlook near the gas pipeline cut in Roaring Plains. We finally got out to Roaring Plains for the first about about a month ago and I loved it. This is one of my favorite pictures from Dolly Sods. The snow on this trip was incredible in the way that it coated the trees (it was really wet and heavy). This is from near the summit of Old Rag. I volunteer up there and know better than almost anyone how badly overcrowded and abused the mountain is, but it still has a special place in my heart. When it is bad up there, it is really terrible, but after the crowd clears out in the evening and you have the summit to yourself and the ravens, it is a pretty special place.

I cannot chose one, so here's three. "Lower" vista, Michaux State Forest, north of Pine Grove Furnace, unnamed trail. (Picasa 640, using button) Bark Road overlook. Along the Sideling Hill Loop in PA. Also a drive up overlook. A nice natural stone bench to sit down on. (P 800) Tuscarora Trail Turnpike Tunnel Traverse overlook. Just off the trail, a good one-two person rock bench to take a break.

Here is another. It doesn't require much of a hike but has a nice view, some might even say a grand view. Grandview, WV by quickking, on Flickr
