Mattatuck Trail – Buttermilk Falls
Plymouth CT
This past Monday and Tuesday was up in Thomaston CT working at a project location. As I usually do I looked into what hiking may be available in the area. In case I had any free time after working.
Monday I had some time available but not much. So I decided on the short walk to 55 foot high Buttermilk Falls on the Mattatuck Trail. There is enough room for one or two cars at the most where the Mattatuck trail heads into the woods off of Lane Hill Road. From there it’s a whopping 0.1 miles to the falls
Not much of a walk. Followed the trail upstream from the falls for a bit, passing by numerous cascades and other small falls. Before turning back, as it was getting dark quickly.
