Saturday April 8, 2017 Escarpment Trail – Schutt Road to Catskill Mtn House site Made my way back up to the Catskill’s in New York this past weekend to hike with a group of friends that used to hike together years ago. Saturday morning I hiked with one other person (Julie). As most of the group couldn’t make it till Sunday. Originally planned on doing the 9.7 mile North Point Circuit on the Escarpment Trail. But due to crappy trail conditions (Running Water, Standing Water, Frozen Mud, Deep Mud, Snow, and Ice Packed trails in places) ended up agreeing with Julie to cut the hike short. By hiking back the North/South lake parks paved roads from the site of the former Catskill Mounting House. Ended up being 6.5 miles with plenty of views that this section of the Escarpment Trail is known for.
