www.flickr.com/photos/49239558@N04/sets/72157648220811468/While in State College for a conference, I decided to go for a quick hike on the Mid State Trail to the beautiful Indian Wells Overlook. The falls colors were not quite at peak with lots of yellow and gold. This view is one of the finest in central Pennsylvania as it looks down on the Bear Meadows Natural Area, a national natural landmark. The natural area was surrounded by bright red foliage far below. A gorgeous spot in the central PA mountains.

Despite the rocky trail conditions this is one of my favorite places along the MST that I have hiked.
