Saturday April 16, 2016 Cuyahoga Valley National Park Ohio While passing through eastern Ohio on my way west to Toledo. Figured I may as well stop off for some short walks (hikes). Since Cuyahoga Valley NP was on the way. It fill the bill perfectly. Did three short hikes in the park. First area was the Ledges Trail loop just north of Kendall Park Road. Very pretty area with Hemlock Forest and Ledges Galore. Total distance was 2.2 miles. Second hike was at Brandywine Falls. Brandywine Falls is supposedly one of the tallest waterfalls in the state of Ohio. I extended my hike by doing a loop consisting of portion of the Stanford Trail and the Brandywine Gorge Trails. One thing to note is the bridge crossing Brandywine Creek is missing, and one uses the trail at their own risk. This was spelled out clearly at the trailhead. I managed to rock-hop the creek without getting wet feet. But it was not all that easy. Some real nice wildflowers along the Brandywine Gorge Trail. Total distance 1.5 miles Last hike was the shortest at .5 miles. And was to Blue hen Falls on the Buckeye Trail. Just north of Boston Mills Road. Very scenic little waterfall. Overall. Not a bad way to spend a few hours on a beautiful Saturday morning. Ledges Area PhotosBlue Hen Falls Photos

Your second photo is of my favorite spot in the park. The moss on those boulders is amazing; like green velvet.

Galiwalker. Speaking of Green Velvet on rocks. I stopped by Nelson Kennedy Ledges park on the way back to Pennsylvania Sunday Another great bunch of moss covered ledges in that park.

I live just east of there. I've hiked a good bit of it, but mostly ride bikes there. Too crowded for my tastes most of the time though.
