First backpacking tent was a Eureka 2 person A-frame I believe it's the timberline. When that one wore out I got a Eureka Apex which is a 2 person dome. Its still around but in rough shape. I also got a Eureka Solitaire which is a solo tent. But nowadays I've left the ground in favor of my Warbonnet hammock. I only use the tents now when friends or family go with me.

Late to the discussion................ but just joined the board! Most of my early tents were big and heavy, Can't remember all of them, except for a Sierra Designs dome that could house an army. At the time, my wife could still hike with me, and she really liked having the room, along with the galoot of a black lab that always needed to sleep with us when we hiked. current shelter is a Tarptent Scarp 1. Love it. Very very stormworthy. Been playing around with just using a tarp. Maybe next spring I'll give that a go
