Asters and Goldenrods mark the change of seasons. Just walking around the local county park I've been able to identify about 1/2 dozen "new" Goldenrods and 4 more Asters. Calico Asters are my most favorite as the yellow disks change colors over time.  No reason to explain where the name Showy Goldenrod comes from:

I can see just enough of the stem and leaves to tell this is a New York Aster. I don't have that one on my site. May I use your photo? I found a similar species @ the Roaring Plains this weekend:  Close inspection reveals a purple hairy stem and the base of the leaves wrap around the stem. The New York Aster has naked, green stems and the leaves do not wrap around the stem. Sometimes taking good close-up photos of the leaves and stems is more important than getting a good shot of the flower. Here's an Aster I spotted at the Lebanon Reservoir on Saturday  I can

Tried that but I got the following Windows Internet Explorer message.
"Could not perform this operation because the default mail client is not properly installed."

hoosier,
That sounds like a configuration issue on your side. Try opening the site with a browser other than Internet Explorer.
