Seen this interesting Fungi while hiking near the AT yesterday. was wondering if it is some type of Puffball family

Your mushroom is Colostoma cinnabarina: AKA Hot Lips. A puffball. Aegis III also reported a siting on his Waynesboro Reservoir TR.
