Yesterday, I went looking for White Birch in autumnal bloom, in central Pennsylvania's Quehanna Wild Area. Unfortunately, these were already done, even if the rest of the forest was 1-2wks to peak fall foliage. The mushroom display though, was the best I've ever seen: they were just everywhere, and totally pristine.
