Appreciate the detailed information and map. Excellent photos as well! Bradford Falls looks quite remarkable!
I'll be spending three days in NEPA & NNJ early next week. It'll be my first time hiking east of Route 15 in Pennsylvania. Your posts have given me some ideas for my itinerary and I'm going to print some of the maps from your site beforehand.
Just got a few questions regarding access to the Falls Creek and Kellogg Mountain parking areas.
For Falls Creek, how is the drive on Shrader Creek Road? Looking at the satellite view on Google Maps, the parts that I can see don't look too bad. Are there any sections that would give my crossover SUV trouble? Earlier this year, my vehicle got stuck driving up a steep, bumpy and muddy road in NWPA and I was fortunate to be able to reverse my way back to safety. I'd prefer not to have another scare like that.
For Kellogg Mountain, I read that the gates open for hunting season, allowing you to drive closer to the overlook areas. I'm assuming this is for the regular firearms deer season and not for other seasons like squirrel (already started according to Pennsylvania's game commission) and archery season (either already started or will be starting soon). You also mentioned that a vehicle with some higher clearance is recommended, so I'm thinking it might be better to do the full 18+ mile hike whether or not the gate is open. This one I'll probably save for another occasion, but I haven't completely scratched it off my itinerary yet.

Thanks for the info! I'll definitely be making the climb up Falls Creek then, and will see if I have time for Kellogg Mountain and Satterlee Run. Printed out that second map listing the vistas, waterfalls, boulders, caves and chasms just in case. Also plan on visiting Steamtown National Historic Site, Ricketts Glen, Delaware Water Gap, High Point State Park in New Jersey, part of the Appalachian Trail out that way, and some other mountains and waterfalls in PA/NJ.
