Nice pics! Wish I lived closer, but just might make it up there this summer. Go back and take some really good pictures of the Hemlock groves. I live near Shenandoah NP, and all the Hemlocks are gone, as is in most of Virginia. There are still some big groves in Canaan WV, but all they will all eventually go because of the Wooly Adelgid. It's a shame, the Hemlock ecosystem is quite interesting, but it's being wiped out by these invaders.

Yes, the loss of the hemlocks is very sad. I love hemlock forests. They are holding out fairly well in the Loyalsock State Forest and the higher plateaus in SGL 57 and 13, probably due to the colder temps there. I hope the beetle they released will help control the adelgid.
