I figured it was time for another run to the Catskill’s for some hiking. As it’s been way too long since I’ve last been up. My last hike was a winter hike up Westkill in 2014 I decide on originally hiking Table and Peekamoose. But decided to tag Lone onto the hike. As I have not had the pleasure of standing atop Lone since February 08, 2009 Headed in from the Denning trailhead using the Phoenicia East Branch trail and Table Peekamoose trails, crossing the Neversink River to the un- blazed Fisherman’s Path. Began the bush whack up Lone from a bit past the crossing of Donovan Brook. Following my compass bearing along the northwesterly spur ridge to the canister. All I got to say is it’s not the bush whack it was back in 2009. Headed from the summit of Lone. Once again following my compass bearing to Table. This was the first time I’ve ever went from Lone to Table. And it was a very easy whack. Except for a tricky little ledge not far off the southwest side of Lone. Once atop Table I followed the trail over to Peekamoose. And the summit rock. With a quick stop at the viewpoint that someone decided to create near the summit. The hike out was an easy jaunt, back over Table, along the blue blazed trail. With a stop off at the two other viewpoints on the way back down off of Table Lot of changes in the woods surrounding Lone from the last time I was there in 2009. I’m going to try and do my best not to stay away from the Catskills for too long again.
